On the day
The school has not said how the 2026 entry interview ran. The Dental Schools Council's 2027 entry booklet lists it as online MMIs and the school expects 2027 interviews to be 'virtual MMI style'; applicants interviewed in February 2026 did not describe the format. The circuit figures here are from the school's last published description, an in-person MMI.
The last published circuit was 7 stations of 6 minutes, 1 minute of it reading, one assessor per station who sees nothing of your other stations, scores simply added. How the online version differs is unsaid, so read your invitation closely.
Manual dexterity, creativity and spatial awareness are on the list of qualities tested and a practical station type exists, but you must not bring a portfolio or examples of your work.
Shortlisting is by UCAT rank alone, so once invited the interview is the whole decision.
Ranked interview score decides; the number of offers is fixed each year to the Scottish Government intake target (for 2025 entry, 132 offers from 206 interviews), and the personal statement and reference are re-checked before offers go out. Outcomes come by 31 March. Extenuating circumstances count for the interview only and must be raised within 5 working days; no individual feedback is given.
