How Leeds selects for interview

Selection & shortlisting

  • All applicants who meet the minimum requirements are ranked on one score from three parts: UCAT total (~50%), best 8 GCSEs (~35%) and best three A-Levels (~15%), achieved or predicted, A-Levels capped at AAA. The weightings are unpublished - these are our estimates.4
  • No cutoff is published. In 2025 the lowest UCAT shortlisted among UK applicants was 1880 (converted to the 2700 scale).4
  • Your personal statement must be about dentistry - motivation for medicine or nursing means rejection. Apply to one School of Dentistry course only.1
  • Mitigating circumstances must be in your personal statement and academic reference when you apply - they can't be added later.1
