Entry requirements

A-Levels

  • You must be taking Biology and a second science from Chemistry, Physics, Maths or Psychology, both at grade A.1
  • The third A-Level can be any subject except General Studies.1

GCSE

  • Minimum grade 4/C in English Language, Maths and two sciences - either Double Award Science or two from Chemistry, Biology and Physics.1
  • 7 GCSE passes at grade 4/C or above, minimum.1
  • Functional Skills qualifications are not accepted in lieu of GCSEs.1

UCAT

  • Your SJT band isn't used at any stage.

Age

  • You must be 18 or over at the start of the course.1

Resits & reapplying

  • A-Levels and equivalents must be completed within five years of the start of the application cycle - older qualifications mean the GAMSAT route instead.1
  • Resits are accepted if you got ABB first time, with everything completed within three years of study.1
  • Applicants who have academically failed a previous dental degree or had Fitness to Practise proceedings cannot be considered.1
  • Transfers are not accepted from any other university - only internal Plymouth stage-one transfers.1
