A-Levels
GCSE
- At least grade 6 (B) in English Language, Maths and two science subjects - Dual Award Science needs 66 (BB). English Literature can't stand in for English Language.1
- Seven GCSEs at grade 7 (A) or above in total.1
- One Level 2 BTEC at Distinction or above can stand in for one GCSE (short courses aren't accepted).1
UCAT
- SJT Band 3 or 4 is an automatic rejection.2
Age
- You must be at least 17 when the course starts.3
Resits & reapplying
- Only one of Year 12 or 13 may be resat; a lower resit grade replaces the original. Year 13 resitters need B in each subject first time.1
- GCSE resits are permitted - list pending resits on your UCAS form; a lower resit grade replaces the original.1
- After two consecutive unsuccessful applications, a third isn't considered. Reapplicants must retake the UCAT and show what's changed.1
- You're not considered if you've started a clinical programme elsewhere.1
- Transfers from other institutions aren't considered.1
Selection & shortlisting

- Conditional offer: AAA first attempt, or A*AA if resitting (A* in Chemistry or Biology). Critical Thinking, Citizenship, EPQ, Key Skills and General Studies don't count.1
