- UCAT - your total, ranked against the year's pool. SJT band also counts - for medicine Bands 1 and 2 earn extra points, and we assume the same here.1
- The personal statement, reference and predicted grades are then reviewed before interview invitations are finalised.1
- In 2024 the lowest Home UCAT invited to interview was 1940, and the average 2160 (converted to the 2700 scale).2
- Our rating covers the UCAT total only - SJT band, GCSEs and contextual information are ranked alongside it in unpublished ways, so strong ones can lift a lower UCAT.

Interview & decision
- Online panel interview (two interviewers), December to March - assessing communication, social and ethical issues, and suitability for dentistry.1
- Decisions are released by May, once all interviews finish. In 2024 the lowest Home interview score offered was 76% (interviewee average 74%).1
- Deferred entry: Home applicants with extenuating circumstances, case-by-case; Overseas fee-payers can't defer.1
- KCL expects work experience in a caring or clinical setting - public-facing work (pharmacy, retail, restaurant) counts if that's not possible.1
Conditional offer
- Conditional offer: A*AA - including grade A in Biology or Chemistry plus grade A in a second subject from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths or Psychology. The EPQ isn't considered.1

What UCAT score do you need for Dentistry at KCL?
In the 2024 cycle, the lowest UCAT score invited to interview (home applicants) was 1910 (converted from the old 4-section scale). No SJT band is rejected - Band 4 applicants have been interviewed. What A-Levels do you need for KCL Dentistry?
You must be taking Biology or Chemistry plus a second from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths or Psychology, both at grade A. Further Maths can't be your third if Maths is one of the two. You must pass the practical endorsement in all Science A-Levels (private candidates exempt).
What are the GCSE requirements for KCL Dentistry?
You need at least grade 6/B in GCSE English Language and Maths. If you studied abroad without GCSEs, international equivalents are considered - KCL looks for evidence of equivalency in your studies.
