A-Levels

  • You must be taking Biology and Chemistry.1
  • General Studies isn't accepted.2

GCSE

  • You need GCSE English and Mathematics at grade B/6.1
  • Your wider GCSE achievement is also taken into account.2

UCAT

  • Your SJT band isn't used in the initial selection for interview.3

Resits & reapplying

  • Resits are not accepted - Highers and A-Levels must be achieved in one sitting, within a single year.2

Selection & shortlisting

  • All applicants who meet the minimum requirements are ranked on academic achievement (including predicted grades) and UCAT; Dundee scores the two halves equally, each out of 10. On our 100-point scale that is UCAT by decile (up to 50), your best eight GCSEs (up to 30) and your best three A-Levels (up to 20).
  • Dundee doesn't publish its weightings or point tables - the GCSE/A-Level split and the points behind each half are our estimate.
  • In 2023 interviewees' UCATs ranged 1460-2400, averaging 1930 (converted to the 2700 scale) - our estimate is ~62 out of 100 for a realistic chance of an interview.3
  • Your personal statement isn't used to select for interview - it may come up at the interview itself.1
