- Bolton hasn't announced how (or whether) the SJT will be used - no band rule exists yet.
- Bolton's course page now says the UCAT is required from the September 2028 cohort, and the Medical Schools Council lists no admission test for 2027 entry - but Bolton told us in June 2026 that it would be required for 2027 entry. Sit it and check with admissions rather than assume either way. No minimum total, section minimum or SJT band rule is published.2
Resits & reapplying
- Resits are only considered with substantial mitigation agreed in advance with the admissions tutor.1
- GCSE resits in English Language or Maths are considered.1
- You must show evidence of academic study within the three years before applying - if you didn't sit formal Year 10/11 exams, internal school transcripts are requested instead.3

- If your education wasn't taught in English, you need IELTS 7.0 with no component below 6.5 (or an accepted equivalent).4
- International students must provide a letter of good conduct after interview.1
