Swansea Medicine UCAT Cut Off & Entry Requirements (2027 Entry)

Only for applicants who live in, and went to school in, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire. Anyone outside Wales is ineligible - and so is anyone in Wales outside these five areas. The course is a paid year as a healthcare support worker, then the 4-year accelerated MB BCh.

A-Levels

  • Predicted grades must be backed by AS results of at least AAA.1

GCSE

  • GCSE Maths at C/4, and English Language or Welsh Language at C/4 (or IELTS 7.0 overall with 7.0 in speaking).1

UCAT

  • UCAT total of 1900 or above, sat in your year of application - no other admissions test is accepted.1
  • The SJT isn't assessed at all - no band is rejected.1
  • Pending UCAT results are fine if the test was sat before the UCAS October deadline - you can't sit it afterwards.1

Resits & reapplying

  • A-Level and IB repeats aren't accepted.1
  • You must be currently taking your A-Levels (or equivalent), or have finished them within the last two years.1

  • The personal statement isn't scored before interview, but you may be questioned on it at one or more stations.1

  • No deferred entry - offer holders can only defer in exceptional circumstances such as bereavement or serious illness.1
  • The course is a paid year as a healthcare support worker with Hywel Dda or Swansea Bay health board, within commuting distance of home, followed by the 4-year Graduate Entry Medicine curriculum at Singleton Park - five years in all.1
  • At least 40 credits a year can be studied through the medium of Welsh.1
