GCSE scoring is based on 8 GCSEs - applicants at the bare minimums rarely make the shortlist. [8]

UCAT

You must sit the UCAT in your application year (between July and September 2026) - only your first attempt counts, once per cycle, and no alternative test is accepted. No UCAT cut-off has been set yet - the annual admissions scheme will fix any threshold. [9]

Your SJT band feeds the shortlisting review - Band 4's treatment will be set by the annual admissions scheme. [9]

International Baccalaureate

If you don't have GCSE English and Maths, you must offer them at IB Standard Level with at least a 5. [2]

Other qualifications

The Access to HE Diploma (Medicine) is accepted only if you meet the widening participation criteria - which apply to Home applicants only, and Home applications are currently closed. [6]

Graduates: a 2:1 honours degree in any discipline awarded within the last three years, plus three A-Levels at ABB including a science at grade A (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths). The GCSE minimums still apply. [7]

Qualification policies

Resits are only considered in exceptional circumstances, with documentary evidence - and third attempts at an entry qualification aren't normally considered. [4]
