A-Levels
- You must be taking Chemistry or Biology plus a second science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths); your third subject can be any discipline - non-science subjects are welcomed. You can apply with predicted or achieved grades.1
- Human Biology, Sports Science, Further Maths and Statistics count only as a fourth A-Level; General Studies and Critical Thinking are welcomed as a fourth A2 but don't form part of the offer.1

UCAT
- You must sit the UCAT in your application year (between July and September 2026) - only your first attempt counts, once per cycle, and no alternative test is accepted. There's no UCAT cut-off - scores are reviewed holistically, though a future annual admissions scheme could set thresholds.2
- Your SJT band feeds the shortlisting review, but no band is auto-rejected - a Band 4 alone won't reject you (though a future annual admissions scheme could change its treatment).2
Age
- You must be 18 by the 1 January after you enrol - for entry in 2027, by 1 January 2028.1
Resits & reapplying
- Resits are only considered in exceptional circumstances, with documentary evidence - and third attempts at an entry qualification aren't normally considered.1
- Evidence of study within the last five years and an academic reference are required.1
- Previous applicants can reapply in a later cycle - but not within the same cycle.2
- You're not eligible if you've started a medicine programme and failed to complete it.2
- No advanced standing, APL or inter-school transfers are permitted into the MBBS.2
