Resits & reapplying
- Unless you're applying as a graduate, all qualifications except GCSEs must have been completed within the past five years, including the year you apply.1
- A-Levels must be completed in one sitting across two years - resits needing a third year are allowed only via an approved Extenuating Circumstances application.1
- GCSE resits are accepted. Adult Literacy and Numeracy or Functional Skills are not accepted in place of GCSEs.1
- Reapplications in future cycles are welcome - but you can't apply twice in the same cycle (e.g. again in Clearing) if you were already interviewed.
- If you started but didn't complete Medicine elsewhere, you're considered case-by-case - formal evidence of your withdrawal is required by 1 November of the application year.1

- All applicants who meet the minimum requirements are ranked by their raw total UCAT score - the cut-off is whatever total fills the interview places in your cohort.3
- In 2026 the Home cut-off was 1880 - our estimate is you'd need around 1880 again next cycle.3
- Home, overseas and graduate cohorts are ranked separately with separate caps, so each has its own UCAT cut-off.3
- Graduates are ranked against the same UCAT cut as school leavers - in some years their bar has sat higher.3
- Nothing else is scored - A-Levels, GCSEs, the personal statement and reference only need to meet the requirements.3
