Cardiff declined to tell us which stations it runs.

On the day

In person for home fee status applicants and online for overseas fee status applicants.

Anyone can sit the MMI in Welsh or bilingually and switch language at any point without gaining or losing marks; a set number of Welsh/bilingual dates exist and you must pick one when booking.

Questions cover the course in Cardiff, ethics, a career in medicine, the NHS, teamwork, self-directed learning, motivation, empathy, resilience and communication.

Cardiff does not publish a station count or timings (prep sites disagree, quoting anything from 6 to 10 stations), so follow the invitation.

Expect a firm briefing at the start about not sharing the questions afterwards; applicants describe reading each station's questions, then a set time to answer each one.

How offers are made

An offer is only made after an interview and offers are made on interview score; around 1100 applicants are interviewed each year. The school's policy adds that the UCAT may be used as part of offer selection, and that achieved grades, overall tariff or UCAT can separate applicants with the same interview score.
