On the day
School of Medicine, Chelmsford campus; 2027 entry interviews run 7-11 December 2026 and 7-13 January 2027. Arrive early: if you are late you may not be interviewed and a new date is not guaranteed.
Two minutes outside each station to read a stem under 100 words; you are handed a notepad and pen at the start of the circuit and can make notes as you go round, but no extra time is given even if you normally qualify for it in exams.
Some stations use actors for role play in front of the interviewer, and you should be ready to discuss your personal statement even though it is not scored directly.
Every station is scored out of 15 (quality of answer, skills shown, communication, each out of 5), no station is double-weighted, and offers come purely from the 90 point ranking.
The scheme changes year to year (2026 entry had one minute of reading time and no notepad; 2025 entry double-weighted two stations for a 120 point maximum), so check the current page.
You can make notes while reading.
Offers are based solely on your MMI ranking; academics and UCAT play no further part once you are interviewed. Unsuccessful interviewees cannot reapply in the same cycle, including through Clearing, and no feedback is given.
