On the day
The school's wording is that the interview "may take place either in person or online", but every 2025 and 2026 entry applicant report found was online, UK applicants included. The school's own interview-day page (archived) describes Zoom: a group briefing with an ID check, then automatic moves between breakout-room stations.
Five stations of 5 minutes, each with a single interviewer asking up to 4 set questions and no prep time. You are cut off when the timer ends, and the school advises reaching every question rather than spending the 5 minutes on one.
Interviewers record a global judgement on whether you have shown the attitudes, behaviours and values to train as a doctor at Exeter; applicants say the briefing talks about marking points per question. Among suitable candidates, UCAT can decide who gets the offer.
Online for 2025 and 2026 entry, UK applicants included, even though the course page still says the interview may be in person or online.
Some offers arrive within days of a December interview while most applicants sit on hold; the FAQ's line that offers only follow the last interview describes the bulk of them.
Offers go to those the interview panel deems suitable; if too many are suitable, UCAT score is used again to decide who gets an offer. The FAQ says offers are only made once all interviews have taken place (normally late February or early March), but 2025 and 2026 entry applicants report some offers arriving within days or weeks of December interviews while others were put on hold. The 2027 entry policy no longer mentions using UCAT again after interview.
