On the day
Zoom panel; the policy allows MMI or panel, in person or virtual, and the A100 page says online for this cycle. Applicants report joining 15 minutes early for a group briefing and an unassessed chat with a medical student before being moved to the panel; a laptop or desktop is required, with a phone on the Zoom app only as a backup.
A panel interview rather than an MMI: about 20 minutes on Zoom with two or three interviewers who have your UCAS form and can ask about your personal statement, which is not itself scored.
An article is released in your applicant portal two weeks before the interview and is the same for every candidate; it fills roughly half the interview (nominally 10 minutes, often less) and can come first or second.
No thinking time and no fixed question list: it runs as a conversation with follow-ups, the panel will politely move you on, and you get only two or three questions about yourself before a chance to ask your own.
Three outcomes (offer, rejection, waiting list). The policy says selection after interview may consider interview score, SJT, UCAS tariff and UCAT; an FOI reply for 2023 entry shows offers were made on an overall interview score made up of the interview mark plus SJT band points (Band 1 = 2, Band 2 = 1, Bands 3 and 4 = 0). Decisions in March.
