On the day
Held at the Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre on the Ormskirk campus. Allow about 2.5 hours: report to Main Reception, then registration with a qualifications check, an ID check before the circuit, a briefing, the MMI circuit and a candidate evaluation of the day. Family can wait in a designated area.
The school quotes 5-8 stations including one rest station, so the exact count is not fixed; each station is 7 minutes plus 2 minutes reading the scenario beforehand and a 1 minute move, 10 minutes per rotation.
Your starting station is picked at random, interviewers cannot see your scores from other stations, and questions in a station come with follow-ups. Interviewers include academics, clinicians (a local GP for one 2026 candidate) and lay members.
You must complete an online non-disclosure form before you can be interviewed, and anyone found sharing questions afterwards, including on social media, has any offer withdrawn.
Bring original certificates plus photocopies (without the originals any offer is withheld until they are verified) and original photo ID, without which you cannot be interviewed. Candidates go round in colour-coded groups and wait together for a while before and after the circuit.
1 min to move between stations.
Applicants are ranked on total MMI score and offers go to the top-ranked, subject to satisfactory references; personal statement and reference may separate ties at the threshold. Decisions wait until all interviews are done. No feedback is given on interview performance and individual station scores are not released.
