Aston declined to tell us which stations it runs.

On the day

All MMIs are held online, normally between December and March; applicants pick from a set of dates and are then allocated a time. Applicants report it runs on Microsoft Teams - you start in one main meeting room, follow a link to each station and return to the main room between stations.

Fully online MMI on Microsoft Teams with five stations, each scored out of 10 for a 50 point total.

Applicants report 2 minutes of reading then 6 minutes of questions at each station, with the questions shown in the Teams chat.

Some stations use actors (expect a role play over video); others give you a scenario to read and discuss with the assessor. No medical knowledge is tested.

If you are rejected because of a red flag at the MMI, Aston will not accept a future application from you.

How offers are made

After interview, applicants are re-ranked within their group (Home, Home widening participation, International) and the top ranked get offers. The admissions policy says offers are based on academic, UCAT and MMI scores; Aston does not currently publish how the three are weighted.
